Welcome to NACCF

Our organisation:
  • NACCF is the Nepal Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation. We are working with the Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation to deliver the cervical cancer vaccine and cervical cancer screening to the people of Nepal.
  • In 2009, 1,300 young Nepali girls received vaccination against cervical cancer, and a further 3,200 girls will be vaccinated in 2010 as part of a school based program targeting girls aged 11-13 years.
  • In 2011 we will be vaccinating 10,000 girls in the Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Kavre, Kaski, Chitwan, Makwanpur and Kapilvastu regions.
  • In Nepal, cervical cancer is the number one cancer affecting women. This vaccine can provide up to 80% protection against cervical cancer, giving girls a brighter future.
Australian volunteers come to Nepal to help at the clinic!
In February 2011 NACCF happily hosted a team of Australian volunteers who came to Nepal to donate their time at our clinic!

The team came to Banepa with energy and optimism to help us complete the construction of our clinic with both their manpower, as well as a significant fundraising effort back in Australia!

The volunteers were put to work making cement and building pillars and when the physical activity became all too much (and electricity was on) it was time to enter cervical and breast cancer screening data into registration books and database software.

The team were also able to attend one of our cervical and breast cancer screening camps in Sanga, Kavre, Nepal with our nursing staff screening 180 women on the day.

NACCF extend heartfelt gratitude to the volunteer team. We hope they will always remember their time in Nepal, and hope to see them again soon!
